Amman, Sept. 19 (Petra) – The Konica Minolata Golf Championship will kick off on Friday at the Al Bisharat golf course.
The players of the national team are Jordan’s Asad Al-Rawashdah, Tariq Al-Ghababsha and Abdullah Al-Otaibi alongside Iraqi player Amer Radhi while Jordanian champions Mohammed Hani Al-Khawaldeh misses the travel commitments.
The tournament is organized jointly by the Jordanian Golf Federation and Texo and aims to stimulate golfers in Jordan and invest them as a pre-tournament for the players before participating in the Arab Championship which will be held in the Bahraini capital Manama next month.
The participation of Shergo Kurdi is absent for his participation in the Mina True Series which is held in the UAE and is an important station for the player as it gives him points of classification.
This year’s tournament is of great importance as the winner of the first place is to represent Jordan and Tesco in the final competition of Konya Minolta International, which is scheduled to start next year in Cyprus with the participation of most of the countries of the Middle East, Africa and parts of Europe.
The tournament includes 30 players from Jordan, Iraq, South Korea, England, Japan and the United States.
According to media spokesman of the Union of Golf Fuad Madi, an invitation was given to the President of the Federation Hani Al Abdalat by the AFC to participate in the arbitration of the Namura Cup (Pacific Union Championship), which will start in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur in early November, where Abdalat is the first Jordanian international rule.
