The countdown to the 34th edition of the Jordan Open Golf Championship, one of the most prominent sports tournaments in the region, has begun, which constitutes an important milestone on the sports tourism calendar in the Kingdom, with the participation of more than 100 professional and amateur players from various Arab and foreign nationalities representing 19 countries, in a record that reflects the growing status of the tournament and its importance at the regional and international levels.
This tournament comes as part of Ayla Oasis Development Company’s plan to enhance Aqaba’s position as a leading destination for sports tourism, as it directly contributes to the activation of air traffic and travel to and from the city, and increases the demand for hotels, restaurants, markets and transportation, which reflects positively on the local economy and drives development in various sectors.
Ayla stressed that the tournament represents the fruit of the strategic partnership with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, where work is being done in an integrated way to market Aqaba globally as a city that combines sports, tourism and investment, in a way that consolidates its position on the map of international sports tourism.
“Hosting the Jordan Open Golf Championship is a priority for us as it contributes to enhancing the tourism and economic movement in Aqaba, and attracts a group of the most famous players and amateurs of various nationalities,” said Mansour Al-Kabariti, Director of Public Relations at Ayla Oasis, stressing that “the tournament reflects the civilized face of Jordan, and highlights the hospitality and authentic Jordanian customs, and we at Ayla are keen to provide an integrated experience for the participating delegations and guests in a way that enhances Jordan’s position on the global sports tourism map.”

Coinciding with the beautiful autumn weather that Aqaba is currently witnessing, the tournament provides an ideal environment for the success of the entire program, as the event combines high-level sports competition with tourism and entertainment activities, which contributes to consolidating Jordan’s position as a global destination for both tourism and sports.
The organizing committee extended its thanks and appreciation to the media and sponsors who contributed to the success of the Jordan Open Golf Championship, stressing that this cooperation reflects the spirit of national partnership and enhances Aqaba’s position as a global sports destination.
